Downtown Value School knows enjoyment and engagement are essential components to a young person's success while in and out of school. Downtown Value Clubs give youth a wide variety of afterschool activities to choose from, to nurture interests and delvelop talents. These clubs are also an opportunity for teachers to share their talents with students in a more relaxed setting.
Leadership Committee opportunities at Downtown Value School are available for both elementary and middle school students. Leadership positions provide students insight on how Downtown Value School operates, and provides an opportunity for students to have an active voice in their school and community.
As school ambassadors, student leaders have the opportunity to plan and promote activities for the entire student body, foster a positive climate throughout the school, and provide tours for Downtown Value School visitors and guests. Students interested in being part of the Leadership Committee learn how to plan and budget time and resources; they develop pride in speaking publically to their peers and community members; and most of all, they have fun!
Each 3rd to 8th grade class elects two student representatives. Leaders meet weekly to plan events and advocate for student interests such as school spirit week, dances, mock elections, and the celebration of cultural and national holidays. Contact the office for more information.
