Teaches Spanish 2; Spanish 3; AP Spanish 4

Born and raised in Valencia, Spain, in 1995 she graduated from High School in her town local secondary school. In the same year she got a scholarship to study English for four weeks in Oxford, England. That summer changed her life, and her way she sees the world. Her true interest for English and her passion for traveling and learning from other cultures were born. After that summer she entered the University Jaume I of Castellon Spain, to study English Philology, the humanistic study of English language and its literature. In the summer of 1998 she went to Dublin Ireland to improve her English skills and start to learn and experience other cultures. She spent one year in Dublin, while alternating her studies at university in Spain. During her last year at university she studied Scottish history and English language at Napier University Edinburgh, Scotland, for 5 months as part of her final thesis. She graduated in September 2000 from Jaume I University with a Masters Degree in English Philology. Right after her graduation she decided to further her education abroad, went back to Edinburgh, and enrolled in another one-year Post-graduated course in Languages and European Marketing at Napier University. In September 2001 she went back to Spain where she continued her education to become a teacher, and she attended a one-semester Post-graduate teaching course of Pedagogical Aptitude at University Complutense of Madrid, Spain. Back then, she used to combine her job as a secretary with English tutoring lessons. After some traveling around Europe, in September 2003 her great opportunity came up after she was selected for the “Visiting Teachers” collaborative program supported by the Ministry of Education/Embassy of Spain, and several departments of education and school districts across the United States and Canada. She moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she worked as a Spanish teacher for Chicago Public Schools at Burley Elementary School. After two years in Chicago, she applied again for this program, achieving to move to a warmer climate in California! In August 2005 she started to work for Options For Youth Charter Schools as an Academic Recovery teacher, in San Gabriel. During that year working for OFY, she earned experience working with students at risk of dropping high school. In April 2007 she entered our community of Central City Value High School, where since then she teaches about her own language and culture. Currently, she teaches the courses of Spanish II, Spanish III and AP Spanish IV.
