The team at Public Storage presented real life case studies to our students. For instance, the architecture team challenged students to reimagine the possibilities of a facility that was razed in Houston, Texas after a recent hurricane. The task required students to design a facility that considered weather challenges, street accessibility, and customer convenience and amenities. Our students eagerly embraced this challenge, presenting their innovative plans to the Public Storage team.

Another case study involved designing the optimum combination of unit sizes to maximize revenue, balancing both square footage and profitability. Throughout the visit, Public Storage professionals shared insights into leadership, architecture, data science, operations, real estate development, finance, brand management, social media marketing, and technology.

Our students finished their day at a local Public Storage facility, where the on-site management team organized a timed contest. Students had to efficiently unload and reorganize a storage unit to maximize space and functionality, giving our students an understanding of what customers experience. They loved it!
