Value Schools is directing families to some important resources during this difficult time.

Childcare: Need help finding childcare? LA County Resource & Referral Agencies might be of help! As a parent, looking for child care can be stressful and, as an essential worker in the current environment, it can seem overwhelming. If you would like additional assistance researching and locating child care that fits your family’s needs, check it out.

Childcare Funding for Essential Workers: On April 10, Governor Newsom approved funding to provide child care services for emergency and essential workers, during the COVID-19 pandemic, who meet specific income guidelines. Child Care Alliance Los Angeles can help you find out if you qualify to receive funding.

Pathways: distributing free pampers to families on May 8, 2020 from 9am-11am first come first served basis. See the flyer in both English and Spanish.

Karsh Center in K-Town: for free diapers. Karsh Center, located in Koreatown, continues to run the Diaper Distribution Program every Wednesday and Thursday by appointment. Diapers are provided monthly for each child ages 0-5. Families will need to bring proof of child's date of birth to their appointment. Families can make appointments by calling 213-401-4651.

The County Crisis Line: open to anyone that might be feeling stressed, depressed, or anxious and need to speak with someone. They will be able to speak with someone in the LA County Department of Mental Health. The line is open 24/7. You can also text "LA" to 741741.

WIC: if they you are pregnant or are caregivers of a child under the age of 5 and your income has been affected by recent events, you may qualify for WIC. It is important to remind you that WIC is NOT considered a part of public charge. It is safe to use and does not affect immigration status for anyone who is currently in the U.S.

Food Bank: See a list of different food banks in case you need additional support with food.

COVID-19 Eviction Protections Fact Sheet: in both in English and in Spanish, these policies are straight from the LA County website. We want our families to know their rights and advocate for themselves if needed.

Stop the spread of germs: a flyer from the CDC on how to stop the spread of germs.

Breastfeeding Guidance: a flyer providing guidance on breastfeeding for mothers with confirmed COVID-19 or are under investigation for COVID-19.

Do I need to get tested: a flyer in both English and Spanish that parents can utilize to see what they are experiencing and if they should go get tested. I know that testing has become available for everyone now but some parents fear exposing themselves by getting tested even though they are not experiencing any symptoms. This flyer is for parents or kids that do show symptoms.

Domestic Violence: sadly due to the Stay at Home Order the domestic violence hotline has been flooded with calls from victims of domestic abuse. This flyer is to remind individuals that the Domestic Violence Services and Resources are open and available.

IMMEDIATE ATTENTION - July 14, 2020 - Value Schools Reopening Task Force

I’m writing to update you on our plans for the upcoming school year, which begins August 10 at all of our schools. While we would love to welcome everyone back to school in person, we cannot safely do so yet. As you know from news coverage, the unchecked spread of covid-19 in Los Angeles County has led state and local authorities, including LAUSD, to recommend postponing normal operations. Value Schools agrees. Read the letter from CEO David Doyle.
