Partner - The Capital Group Companies
Grant L. Cambridge is a Partner and a portfolio manager for The Capital Group Companies, a large Los Angeles-based investment management firm. Mr. Cambridge joined The Capital Group Companies in 1997. Mr. Cambridge received a BS from Bentley College (Waltham, MA) and a Masters degree from Suffolk University (Boston, MA), and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business. Mr. Cambridge is also a Trustee at Mystic Seaport: The Museum of America and the Sea, Mystic, CT and serves on the Board of Overseers of The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens. Mr. Cambridge and his wife, Peggy, reside in Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Cambridge joined the board October 24, 2007, and has been the Board Chair since 2011.
Kate Farrar

Senior Director for Regional Impact at Leadership for Educational Equity
Kate Farrar, Senior Director for Regional Impact at Leadership for Educational Equity, oversees the work of their western regions where they support current and former teachers to engage through policy, advocacy, organizing, and electoral pursuits, toward the outcome of achieving educational equity for all children in our country. Kate’s career began in the Compton Unified School District, teaching English and ESL. Since then her professional path has included working as a teacher and guidance counselor in the Los Angeles Unified School District, serving as a charter school principal, and working for the Teach For America organization supporting both new teachers and alumni of the program in Los Angeles and across the nation. Kate has been in Los Angeles for nearly 25 years and currently lives downtown.
Jody Foldesy

Principal at The Boston Consulting Group
Mr. Foldesy is a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group. He is based in the Los Angeles office. He is a core member of BCG's Corporate Development practice area. He has served a number of leading companies on the West Coast and in the Asia/ Pacific region, mostly in the Technology/ Media and Industrial Goods spaces. He has extensive experience in developing corporate strategy and helping businesses maximize shareholder returns. Mr. Foldesy also has devoted a significant amount of his time at BCG to non-profit clients, including several in the public education space. He helped Los Angeles Unified School District develop an innovation division and its school report cards; Cleveland Metropolitan School District launch a major transformation; and the State of Arizona develop its education strategy and policies. Prior to joining BCG, Mr. Foldesy worked as a journalist at The Washington Times. He won several awards and broke a variety of major stories while covering the city’s #1 sports beat, the Washington Redskins. Mr. Foldesy earned an MBA with High Honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He graduated with a BA in Journalism from American University in Washington, D.C.
Jeffrey Garcia

Analyst at the Capital Group Companies
Jeffrey Garcia is an Investment Analyst at the Capital Group Companies, where he is responsible for coverage of Latin American equities. Before joining Capital, Mr. Garcia graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Management Science and Engineering. Mr. Garcia is very passionate about access to high-quality education. He has previous work experience at the Los Angeles Fund for Public Education as well as Stanford College Prep as an educator. Mr. Garcia became involved with our schools through Saturday tutoring at Central City Value High School and joined the board in June 2012. He resides in Downtown Los Angeles.
Erika Martinez-Scott

Erika Martinez is the proud mother of two Values Schools students:  Kassandra Laines (senior at Central City High School) and Kamille Scott (6th grader at Downtown Values School).  Erika has been a Values School parent for the past 5 years. She has been an active member of the Values School Community having served on Downtown Values Local School Site Council as well as PTO Treasurer.   She currently volunteers her time teaching Downtown Values School parents computer classes. Among the many things Ms. Martinez likes about the Values Schools is "how accessible staff and administration is to parents.  The Value Schools is a community and everyone genuinely cares about each other and ALL the students".    Originally from Mexico, Ms. Martinez has lived in Los Angeles for the past 20 years.  She is a graduate of Manual Arts High School in South Los Angeles.  Ms. Martinez is the Accounts Manager at D'Alessio Law Group. 
Jose Ramos

Director of Community Services for LA County Children's Bureau of Southern California
Jose A Ramos Jr, MSW, is the Director of Community Services for Los Angeles County at Children’s Bureau of Southern California. Mr. Ramos has worked for the Children’s Bureau for the past 17-years and has over 20-years of experience working in the Child Welfare field. Mr. Ramos has a Master degree in Social Work from the University of Long Beach. As the Director of Community Services for Los Angeles, Mr. Ramos oversees all prevention programs within Children’s Bureau. His responsibilities include oversight of staff, evaluation, grant writing, and representing Children's Bureau within Los Angeles communities. Mr. Ramos has worked closely with community leaders to strength the community and makes positive changes to the lives of families. Mr. Ramos is also a Professor at the University of Northridge, in the Master’s of Social Work department and an adjunct Professor at Springfield College. Mr. Ramos has been the co-convener for Services Planning Area 4 (SPA) – Metro and a member of the Children’s Planning Council. Mr. Ramos is the father of 2 children ages 14 and 12 years old. Mr. Ramos was born in Ecuador and came to the United States at age 10 and has lived in California for the past 31 years. Mr. Ramos joined the board on June 15, 2011.
